INAUGURAL CEREMONY OF NATURAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION REPORT- 2017-2018
The inaugural ceremony of Natural Science Association "UNIVERSUM" were held on 20/09/2017. The programme started when the chief guest and other members arrived at the auditorium of Mannam Memmorial Training College,Vilakkudy at 11.00 am
The programme started with prayer song by Teena and Shabana. The presidential address by Miss.Akshaya Gopi, vice chairperson of our college. Then student Haritha Prasad welcomed all into the section. The keynote address by Mr. Balakrishna Kurup,our respected principal of the institution. He motivated the students for organizing such a hint of programme and appreciated the association works,followed by the function were inaugurated with lamp lightening by Mr. Simon Baby Sir,a best teacher state award winner from Govt.H.S Trikkannamangalam and he also presented the logo. The association name was "UNIVERSUM". The student Akhil Rajan declared the vision and mission of the association,why the name UNIVERSUM and it's meaning & the future plans of association.
The chiefguest Simon Baby sir spoke about the valuable works,suggestions importance and scope of Natural Science, available scholarships for students and researchers for their better future. After that Miss.Anitha Thampi , a Natural Science student wear the Ponnada to Mr.Simon Baby Sir for his professional acheivement during the year 2016,the state award for the excellent science teacher. Followed that a powerpoint presentation about the well known scientists in Biology was presented by Anitha Thampi. Through that presentation all students could disseminate an idea about scientists and their contributions to Biology.
The falicitation speech were done by Miss.Renuka,Natural Science teacher,Mrs.Jayakumari, Social science teacher,NithinDas a Malayalam department student were wished for the better future work of the association. Then Nisha Babu a student from Natural Science department said the vote of thanks. The function were dispersed by 1.30 pm with National Anthem.
After the morning section Natural Science association conducted an exhibition as a part of association inauguration. Different posters related to Biology, scientists, charts related to endemic & endangered plant and animals, medicinal plants and their uses, millets & cereals, pulses, spices and different Zoological & Botanical specimens, permanent slides, microscope etc were presented in the exhibition section. It gives motivation and curiosity about Biology among other subject students.
